“Theresa Dodaro’s The Porcelain Doll presents a fascinating feminine perspective of World War II’s effects on a family. I enjoyed the spin of the usual war story through the mapping and charting of a family’s navigation of trauma. The use of the doll as a symbol for the passing of ancestral trauma is really brilliant and a great concept from Dodaro . . . Overall, I appreciated Dodaro’s artistic choices and hope she will continue writing. She has too keen of an eye for a unique, original story to not continue persevering in this very tough career.”
